What’s New and Exciting?

TECHNOLOGY PAVILIONS

3D IC & Wafer Level Packaging (WLP) Pavilion

With the rapid growth and adoption of 3D IC Integrated technologies and process, the pavilion aims to showcase companies with leading edge products and services. As IC manufacturers aim for further miniaturization of their devices, 3D IC integration packaging will see the gray line defining traditional front-end and back-end processes of semiconductor manufacturing. The 3D-IC Pavilion will provide a platform for companies with front-end based technologies like TSV and Thin Wafer Handling to back-end based Chip Stacking and Advanced 3D Packaging to present their latest products to the Southeast Asia market.

MEMS Pavilion

Global MEMS device market will reach USD 8B by 2010. As a growing MEMS R&D and manufacturing hub, Southeast Asia will play a major part in meeting global device demand. SEMICON Singapore will group exhibitors with equipment, material and services for MEMS R&D and manufacturing into a pavilion and showcase developments in MEMS technology to bring renewed focus into this growing area of microelectronics.

LEDs Pavilion

The world has seen a boom in the use and application of LED, HBLED and Solid State Lighting. Leading players in this field such as Avago, LUMILEDS, Nichia and OSRAM have major investments in manufacturing in Southeast Asia. The LED pavilion provides an avenue for companies supplying equipment, materials and services to this growing niche of the semiconductor industry to reach out to the growing industry in the region. Photonics has been identified as a priority sector by the Malaysian government and Singapore has seen its growing share of R&D and manufacturing investments.

Front End Technology Pavilion

The recent growth of wafer fabs in the region showcasing new technology and latest products for wafer processing and front end technology has become the new focus for many companies to increase their market share. The pavilion aims to bring together companies with innovative and cost effective solutions to reach out to fabs that are increasing their leading edge wafer capacities. Fabs such as IMFlash, Globalfoundries, UMC, SSMC, STMicroelectronics are ramping or at peak of their production in 2010 and expected to grow in 2011.

Modules & Sub-Assemblies Pavilion

With more semiconductor equipment manufacturers such as Applied Materials, Kulicke & Soffa and KLA Tencor locating their factories or HQ in the region, opportunities for vendors supplying modules and sub-assemblies, both hardware and services have increased significantly. This pavilion aims to bring together companies that supports the equipment manufacturers as well as showcasing their capabilities to support the equipment makers in the region.

Green Manufacturing Pavilion

As companies continue to bring their operations to be in line with the world’s efforts in going green and conserving resources, Green Manufacturing is the new buzzword for the industry. The pavilion aims to create awareness of products and services that can assist manufacturing to reduce their carbon footprint or to reduce their consumption of key resources.

Facilities Management Pavilion

Southeast Asia continues to see new facilities being added as manufacturing ramps, this pavilion aims to provide new focus to exhibitors that provides products and services aimed at keeping the plants running at optimal operational efficiency and using the best level of resources.
